What is art therapy?

  • A creative way to express and understand our thoughts, feelings, and emotions by making art.
  • Art does not necessarily have to look like a masterpiece you’d find in a museum or gallery, it can be anything that you create with your own hands to tell a story or share a deeper meaning about yourself or an experience you’ve had. In many ways, once we create and use art as a way to tell a story about our unique thoughts, we start to come closer to understanding who we are and how our experiences make us feel. This way of sharing can be very comforting and eye-opening, and it’s a great way to handle and process our strong emotions.
